Madison Square Garden, known colloquially as The Garden, has been the name of four arenas in New York City, with the current one located on 8th Avenue near Pennsylvania Station. This arena is best known as the home of New York City’s teams the New York Rangers hockey team and the New York Nicks professional basketball team. It is also the site of the popular Big East Men’s Basketball Conference Tournament. Here you can also see the circus when it comes through the Big Apple, not to mention Wrestlemania and boxing.
With a capacity of up to 20,000 spectators, you can see nearly any show, concert or sport event which would have a major audience. John Lennon played his last concert at Madison Square Garden. Other concerts were played by Jimi Hendrix, the Who, Shakira, Michael Jackson, and so many others. The Madison Square Garden also includes another smaller venue for up to 5000 people, an Expo center, a terrace and two restaurants.
