About Het Leidseplein Hotel, Amsterdam
Het Leidseplein Hotel is a 1-star establishment located in a 17th century canal house in the Leidseplein neighbourhood. Originally, Leidseplein was a wagon park for people to leave their vehicles in before entering the city. Now it is a popular area for young people in the city thanks to its great variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, casinos, theatres and museums. The hotel has since been restored, recapturing the original charm of days gone by.
The hotel has various guestrooms, including doubles, twins, triples and quadruples with private bathrooms with a hair dryer as well as heating, a TV and telephone and Wi-Fi Internet access. These rooms have simple, yet warm decor and modern furnishings. You can find tea and coffee facilities all day long in the lounge bar on the first floor. The hotel boasts a 24 hour reception desk with a safe and left-luggage office, a TV lounge and laundry facilities. Guests travelling with a car will be pleased to hear that there is a private car park at the hotel (extra charge) and a public one 100 meters away. Nie wieder in diesem Hotel.

This hotel is situated above one nightclub and opposite another. Both busy throughout the week and into the early hours. Only one of three bathroom lights were working and this was tempremental at best, cutting off when using the shower. The pillows were disgusting and we had no pillowcases for half our stay. The towels were not nice, the matresses were stained, there was no way to control the heating in the room, only one window opened and the tv did not work. The staff did not have sufficient grasp of the english language to be able to talk to them about these problems. However as we were only after a bed and spent the whole day and most of the night out of the hotel it was just about fit for purpose.
