Das Zimmer war sauber und groß. Die Betten waren gemütlich hergerichtet und mit stilvollen Tagesdecken bezogen (keine ekelhaften fleckigen Wolldecken). Handtücher wurden stets gewechselt. I was staying in Hostal Rubio in Madrid from 19/05 to 26/05. Everything was really great, the owner of the hostal was very kind and friendly, explained to us about all sightseeing places in Madrid. Rooms have been clearing everyday so everything was very clean and tidy. I advise to visit this Hostel to everyone who wants to have a comfortable place to sleep and enjoy a time!!! Pros: Beautiful accommodation in dead central location. The staff are incredibly helpful and the place is very clean and spacious. Rooms are small, secure and comfortable, and although it's shared toilet / bathroom there are several available in the hostel. Showers are great. Cons: Mattresses and pillows are a bit worn in and might not be comfortable for light sleepers. Also, walls are thin and the streets are noisy, so be prepared for singing, shouting and phones ringing in the night! The hostel is also five floors up, and though there is a small lift, you may want to double check if you are concerned about wheelchair/pushchair access. You may also want to brush up on your basic phrases (such as how to ask for a taxi to the airport, etc), as the staff do not speak much English.
