The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in the north of Madrid is Real Madrid’s football stadium. Located in the Chamartín district, this stadium has witnessed some of the greatest battles of Spanish football. Inaugurated on 14 December 1947, it currently has a capacity of over 80,000 spectators.
This UEFA Elite stadium was named after chairman Santiago Bernabéu Yeste, and has hosted the European Cup final three times: in 1957, 1969 and 1980. The finals for the 1964 European Cup and the 1982 World Cup have also been held at the Bernabéu. This monument to modern football is located on the Paseo de la Castellana, the most famous street slicing from North to South through Madrid, at the metro Lima. After experiencing a game here, you can go out and join other football fans celebrating in the area or hit the clubs in nearby Avenida Brasil. This stadium, one of the largest in Europe, is a site not to be missed for true football fans.
