Nice staff, bedbugs ruined the trip

We stayed there for three nights. The staff was very friendly from the start. When we got to our room, it was decent. The next morning we noticed one bedbug on my friend's bed. And then another one when we started looking for them. Also there were brown stains in the sheets. At first we weren't sure if they were bedbugs so we decided not to contact the staff about it. Then in the last evening I noticed even a bigger bug on my pillow so I immediately went to ask for another room. They were very understanding, apologized and gave us another room. All in all, we got good service from the staff, but the stay was horrible because of the bugs. Also the towels and the sheets weren't clean and there was no hot water coming from the room's tap. The bathrooms were clean.

Good value for money

Seems like the Broadway Hotel and Hostel is a good value for money. It's clean, has a good atmosphere and the location is acceptable - close to the Central Park, even closer to the Subway. Every day we got a clean towel, which might be due to the fact, that it was extremely humid that time - they might not get dry in time for the next use.
All in all, when traveling on a budget, I'd recommend the Broadway Hotel and Hostel. Especially since a lot of their rooms are just for 2 persons - this makes it more safe and private.

It was good!

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. We think it is alright for NYC, it was pretty central and we had no problems with anything. The only thing that annoyed us were the showers... not very much of waterpressure there but it was ok. I would recommend staying there anyways cause you dont spend your day in the shower!

Excellent value for money

Very happy with our room, very happy with the staff and general ambiance, I was a little worried that it may be very noisy as there were also hostel rooms but it seems like the hotel rooms were at the top of the building so we were not disturbed by large gangs of noisy people. Excellent value for money and a good location. It is a 10 minute walk to Central Park and about 30-35 minutes to Columbus Circle. Will definitely recommend to those seeking a budget place to stay.

nice stay at this hostel

Stayed for a couple of days in August, was meant to share the room with another person for both nights, but stayed alone in the room for the second night, which I didn't mind at all). The room was cleaned daily, aircons were in place, bathrooms in excellent condition. Location-wise it is not far from the metro, lots of cheap places where to eat, walking distance from the park(about 10 mins walk), wifi only in the lounge.
Will stay there again if I happen to visit New York in future.
