Reviews of Hostal López
Calle de las Huertas, nº 54, Madrid
Good place, but...
The hostel is on a very good place: The street is full on activity by night with restaurants and bar. Moreover, you can easily visit by foot or with The Metro.
The Hostel is very clean but room was sad and old... No wifi exept on first floor... Very little bathroom (without Windows).

good location. clean hostal. helpful staff.
good place to stay. only complaint is that wifi did not work in our top-floor room.
Staff very helpful and pleasant. No lift and hostal entry is on second floor...then rooms may be two flights higher.

Rooms were clean and staff very helpful - noisy street (at least over the weekend) might mean you should bring earplugs,,,,, overall, a good place, very old fashioned and simple and straightforward. We were invited to leave our bags behind on day of departure, for instance, to collect later, which freed us up - very considerate staff. Really good location, though, with a lovely juice bar over the road (and chocolatey café just close by, open for Sunday breakfast). The price of the room was the same as others which offer slightly more 'modern' conveniences, but you do get an authentic sense of being in a real old Madrid guesthouse!
Early check-in and great location. Rooms have basic equipment, but it is clean and beds are comfortable, towels included. It is a little bit noisy, cause window looks out closely at other buildings. For few nights, if you mostly use it as a place to sleep between sightseeing time it is a good option.
