May 2013

We stayed here because it was on the main road to the airport, and we had to get a taxi at 4am, otherwise I wod not stay in this area- too loud, too much traffic, etc. first impression of room wasn't good- smelled strongly of stale cigarettes smoke, could have been cleaner- shower was great, lots of hot water and pressure. Beds were fine.

Hotel is situated in Plaza De Espanya, Metro is five minutes walk from Hotel and will get you to all strategic areas of Barcelona, like Las Ramblas, Camp Nou Etc. About the Hotel, Staff are friendly, A woman works during the day and her English is very good. Rooms are okay for the price, but can be very cold at night because there is no way to turn on the heating unless you ask a staff member. Bed sheets are changed daily, Only other problem I had with my room was the shower facility, Shower would not stay on stand so I had to either hold it while I showered or take a bath, might not be like that in every room just so happened it was mine. Would I recommend this hotel? For the price it's cheap and located in a good area. There are shops, supermarkets and restaurants located all over Plaza de Espanya, also the hotel is easy to get to from the main airport, use the aerobus which will take you to Plaza De Espanya, if you're going to Barcelona to watch a Barca game, or just want to visit camp nou, then you can take the Metro from the Espanya metro located in the main square of Plaza de Espanya. You will need to take L3 line and travel to Maria Christina that is about five stops from Espanya. I would suggest that you buy a T10 travel card from machine located at any metro station. The T10 Zone 1 travel card costs €9.25. This ticket is the one most used on a tourist visit since it covers the city centre area where most of the tourist attractions are.

June 2012

Useful hotel for going to Sonar festival (june) close to touristic part of the city and close to the festival (10-15min traveling). But not a clean hotel at all, hair in the bathroom of previous visitors, cracked floor and wall, and the bath looks so dirty, I've only taken a shower in it. There's a TV but the electricity contact is so old, that the connector falls out all the time.. But low price, what did you expect...
