You are also close to the Plaza Cibeles where the beautiful post office building is located and Real Madrid fans (and sometimes the team itself) take a dip in the fountain after big wins. The Puerta de Alcalá and El Retiro Park are just up from this Plaza as is the Salamanca neighbourhood, known for its upmarket shopping on the C/Serrano.
