With friends
Small Hotel on a quiet street, within easy walking distance of places of interest, eg the Belvedere and close to metro. My friend and I found the hotel comfortable and well-appointed for its size. No noise within the hotel and the buffet breakfast was more than adequate, with 2 choices of fruit juice or water, several different teas and a coffee machine, about 4 choices of cereal, 2 different yoghurts (possibly homemade and served from large bowls)boiled and scrambled eggs, the usual meats, cheeses, rolls, croissents, bread, butter or spread, jam and most days there was also some fruit, either eg melon or a fruit bowl selection. We had tea one afternoon when we came back from being out and this was served in a teapot each - we each chose a different tea. The cost for this per person was no more than a cup of tea bought in a cafe/restaurant. We sat in the comfortable Reception area to drink our tea. One thing which we could not understand was that there were two of us sharing a room, but we were only given ONE HAND TOWEL, but TWO BATH TOWELS per day. I asked for a second hand towel at Reception and was always given one. Also, I asked for a jug of hot water to take upstairs to make my own bedtime herbal tea, and they always obliged. I mentioned that the light in the lobby outside our room did not always activate, as it should, and they immediately entered it in their 'Things to Do' Book to tell the technician. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. They rang the tour company for us, when our transport for a booked tour was late arriving. Left luggage - this was another helpful facility, as we arrived before official check-in time, but we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel and go-off to start our visit to Vienna, and return later to officially check-in. Also, on the day of departure we vacated our room and checked-out, but still had time to do some further sight-seeing before leaving for the airport, and again the hotel allowed us to leave our luggage and collect later. When asled they also suggested where we might eat on our first evening; giving us a real flavour of viennese life, as it was where the 'locals' eat. They do not change travellers' cheques. The Staff were all very polite too and spoke excellent English. Translate this guest review
